Samsung sells tablets just about as well as it sells phones. Certainly compared to other manufacturers they have been coming up with the best android tablets in the world right now. And it seems they will soon be going one up on the existing Tab A 8 with the new galaxy tab A 8.0.
Some of the headline features are the Qualcomm Snapdragon with a speed of 1.4GHz connected with 2BG of RAM. Also a resolution of 800×1280 on an 8-inch display and a speculated 16 GB of internal storage which may be increased with the benefit of a micro SD card. Just a slight update on the camera front from the current 8, the model has an 8MP rear camera and 5MP on the front and video recording gets 1080p. Happily however, the software package has been updated to Android Nougat which is brilliant at multi-tasking.
There are not many hopes on any entirely new features for the 8.0 since not much has changed from the existing model. The only variations on the cards far are for Wi-Fi and cellular. Also there will be no near field communication or NFC. However, media playback and normal web browsing will be allowed which would be alright for a budget-friendly device.
Rumors of the new one came about when a certain Samsung SM-T385 model number was listed by GFXBench as it is fairly similar to what the model number of the A 8.0 is should look like. Although the A 8.0 is speculated to be the same as the model listed by GFXBench, Samsung may just change the name altogether when the tab is launched the 2017 IFA. Only a few months ago Samsung came out with the more high-priced Tab S3 and so a cheaper model was due at some point.
