The news that a refurbished model of the Samsung Galaxy Note7, was quickly overshadowed by the rumored cost of the new version – $440. While it was maintained that the following model would be cheaper than the older model, the estimation stood at $620. According to the reports published by Chosun Ilbo and The Investor, however, the price tag could be lowered by a whopping almost $200.
The Galaxy Note 7 was pulled from circulation when it was found that the battery was prone to combusting. Samsung recalled around four million of the phones and frantically began to look for a cause. It was later determined that a short circuit in the battery was the cause of the explosions.
The company has fixed these errors and it is said that the improved model will be back in circulation, with a smaller 3200mAh battery. It will also be featuring Android 7.0 Nougat. It is likely that many of the features from the previous model will remain the same. There is no official title for the refurbished model but many are calling it the Galaxy Note 7R.
It has not been determined when the phone will go on sale. However, it will only be released into a few markets. It does look like the 7R will be a heavily discounted version of the original, nonetheless.
