Some things about computers never change. We may have touchscreens now, but nothing beats a good mouse when using a computer. I have a laptop with a great touchpad with finger-sensitive gestures. But I continue to use a mouse because it’s the most convenient for gaming and travelling.
A good computer mouse does not have to cost a ton of money. I often see computer mice being sold at stores for over $60. High price tags close to $100 for mice instantly make me suspicious. Let’s face it; computer mouse tech is essentially the same everywhere. What sets a good mouse apart from a bad one is comfort in hand, ease of use, how good the scroll wheel/laser is, battery power and wireless connection.
Just because a mouse is priced at $100 doesn’t instantly make it good. I have spotted some mice with the same models as in the nineties being sold for exorbitant amounts. Don’t fall for these scams. You can easily find a great mouse for less than $20, or $50 at max. For example, one of the best cheap mouse, Microsoft’s Basic Optical Mouse 2.0, costs very less on Amazon.
For our list, we’ve gone with $50 as the upper limit, although most of the products are well under that figure.

Guide to Buying a Cheap Mouse
If you’re looking for a mouse under $50, consider these points.
Do not buy the cheapest mouse you see on the above list. You need to first consider your needs first. For example, think about whether you want the best cheap mouse for work or gaming. Because the regular work mice won’t be suitable for gaming.
When you buy, make sure the mouse is designed for your handedness. When people mention best cheap mice, they usually mean right-handed mice. If you are a leftie, you should stick with an ambidextrous or specifically left-handed product.
Some mice have programmable buttons. They can be useful to enhance your PC experience. However, programmable buttons are most useful to gamers. So, if you are a non-gamer computer user, you don’t need to spend extra for mice with programmable buttons.
Last but not least, make sure you read customer reviews for the product. Also, compare prices across different sites like Amazon, eBay and Best Buy. If a mouse is very expensive on Best Buy but is very cheap on eBay, that should raise a red flag.
