If you are a DIYer or the owner of a boat, you may be in need of a winch.
Electric winches are very convenient to have, especially for those heavy-duty long hauls.
They can also be quite expensive. Some cost close to $1, 000.
But I managed to find a best cheap electric winch, the Master Lock 2953AT, for a good price.

How to Buy a Good Budget Electric Winch
Here are several tips for buying an electric winch for a low price:
Always check the maximum pull capacity on single and double lines. Budget winches are great for pulling up about 1,000 pounds of weight. Some mentioned in the above list can pull as much as 6,000 pounds of weight. You may require different powered winches depending on your needs so always check this specification before buying.
Compare the pulling capacity advertised to the horse power of the motor. If an electric winch promises to pull up thousands of pounds, then the motor must have horsepower to match that claim. Otherwise, the product may not be capable of pulling as much weight as claimed, or it may work very, very slowly.
Think about whether you want a portable winch or whether you are okay with a bulky winch. For marine operation, portable winches are recommended.
Check the length of the power cord as well. Make sure the winch can be connected to an outlet at the worksite or home. If it’s too short, you may have to buy extension cords.
It’s highly recommended to buy an electric winch with a warranty. There are different types of warranties that come with the product. You may see limited warranties, electric warranties, tech support warranties and warranties for the motor. Read limited warranties carefully to understand exactly what is supported and what’s not.
